Fur Traders River Run – Beloit, WI to Rockton, IL
Follow the fur trader’s trail on this beautiful stretch of the Rock River. See bald eagles, scores of waterfowl, and other wildlife as you glide along the river. You’ll come ashore at Macktown Forest Preserve, where fur trader Stephen Mack’s original 1840’s limestone trading post still stands. Take a few minutes to walk around the re-created Native American Indian village and trading post and imagine life in the 1800’s.

We’ve combined three of our favorite things into one fun event – paddling, biking and beer! We’re holding them in Rockford, IL, Aurora, IL and Beloit, WI with each event benefitting developments of bike paths or bike programs in each community. Paddle, Pedal and Pints is a fun, non-competitive event for all abilities that starts on the water and ends in a local pub.
