Learn and Launch River Kayaking Experience

Have you always wanted to paddle a kayak? Then it’s time to get your paddle on! We’ll give you a brief introduction on river paddling, then, we’ll get you into one of our premium kayaks for a 2-hour unguided paddle trip down your choice of local rivers.  We’ll pick you up at the end of your trip and shuttle you back to your vehicle. Paddle and Trail has four locations located near some of the most scenic paddling rivers in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.

Things we suggest you wear or bring for your paddling adventure: a towel, footwear that can get wet (not flip flops), sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, a change of clothes, a bottle of water. Dress comfortably, shorts are recommended. Trip size is limited to 14 people.

The value of the “Learn & Launch” River Kayaking Experience is $60 per person and includes a brief kayaking introduction, ½ day kayak rental including paddle and Personal Flotation Device, and shuttle services.

is there a minimum age for kids?

If we wanted to use a two person kayak, would that be an option? And if so, would the cost be $30 or $60?

Hi Lindsay, Thanks for the great question. It makes the most sense to use a one person kayak for this Learn and Launch experience. A single kayak will give you the opportunity to try out your new paddling skills on the river. The cost of our trips is per person, not per boat, so the cost is the same whether you’re in one or two boats. Hope to see you on the river soon!
